    New manager appointed
Tranmere Rovers have appointed Darrell Clarke as the club’s new manager.

Rovers old boys

Conor Robson, the young back up keeper who made our bench a few times in 23/24, has signed for FC St Helens in the NW Counties League.

Stephen Walker, the striker Mellon signed for us on a season-long loan from Middlesbrough but never played a league game before we sent him back early, has signed for Yeovil from Scarborough.

We have signed a lot of poor players over the years, but rarely have we released a player who has gone on to greater things. Neill Byrne is one of the few.
Didn't he live in the area and it seemed a promising acquisition. I'm sure he was soon viewed as a liability with few tears shed when he went. Fair play to him for improving himself.

Can't remember the full story but think his girlfriend was from Wirral and we desperately needed a central defender, but Byrne didn't seem to fit Micky's plans and he went to Stockport where Dave Challinor was boss and who had previously had Byrne at Hartlepool.

Marine fans won’t be happy!

Southport may have given him an EFL Release Clause? Watch him become a goal machine when Danns actually plays him as a forward rather than WB or winger as we did! Think there is a reasonable chance he will be back in EFL once he has.

Southport makes sense as he’ll know Neil Danns and if settled up here he may not want to move. Hope he can get and stay fit and get some regular game time. Will be interesting how he gets on.

Solomon seemed to have a lot of fitness issues when with us and suggestions that Crosby doubted he’d make it as a FL player because of them. Hope things work out for Sol, didn’t see enough of him to decide how good he might be.

I hope he does well but I highly doubt he will be back in the efl anytime soon, I think he is going back to his level.

I've been wrong before ;)
Interestingly comment on the other forum that Marine said he was after "silly money" which might explain the NL and Scotland interest...

I always thought Taylor showed more promise. He seemed sharper and had more intelligent movement.
Oh don't get me wrong RLC. I thought/ think that also. I must confess I was very disappointed that Taylor didn't get to progress with us and whilst he seemed to do ok at Linfield he was hardly a revelation there either though arguably played out of position there also. Maybe he isn't good enough but maybe he simply needs a new direction and will prosper elsewhere a la Smallwood once he left us.

Otis Khan was Player of the Tournament as his Pakistan side won an international tournament for the first time ever yesterday, beating Afghanistan in the final. Not quite the World Cup but still..
