    New manager appointed
Tranmere Rovers have appointed Darrell Clarke as the club’s new manager.

New manager - Darrell Clarke

So rex the cat from borough road will be the new manager , rover will be the assistant, the 3 guineapigs fromm number 33 will be the squeaky coaches, russel the hamster will getthem all fit on his hamster wheel. The pitch will be covered in hey to slow play down, the club is like a zoo now so this would not be out of place

Some rumours, unfounded I’m sure, linking Steve Bruce with some sort of role.

Please no.

Has anyone but me noticed that as soon as Tranmere said they were interviewing for a new manager, rumours quickly spread that the Man city manager was leaving at the end of the season. Now I am not mentioning any names but the Man City manager has now announced that tomorrow will be his last game. Which will leave him free to join another club. Can we expect an announcement from Palios on Monday, will he be the man to lead the SWA into a period of unadulterated success over the next ten years, before leaving to manage Chester. Only time will tell.

To be fair, @Alun, it's a bit like noticing Mrs Honeyman has stepped down from Trumpton's Women's Circle while Keir Starmer is under pressure.

Pep remains under contract to oversee the city group of 13 clubs, maybe we will be the 14th

Has anyone botherd to tell the chairman that we have no manager no team pre season 5 week's away. The place is run by muppets

It does give us a respite from posts on how useless the manager is and how someone else should have been brought in. Always a positive aspect to a situation.

I refer all to past posts on appointments.

Same applies to most players who will be brought in for the budget available.

There is also the complication of this takeover - it is likely the new owners will want to have a say on the appointment.

Personally, I’d rather the proper interview process be followed than a panic appointment.

As for the delay due to the new process for assessment of club acquisitions - if it means the club is placed in ‘safe hands’ for the future, that is a good thing.

What I will say that has a slightly negative connotation is I hope the consultancy role Mark has is limited to the financial and legal aspects such that a new manager could have a say on who their ‘backroom’ staff are. I do feel a refresh is necessary.

We don’t need Pep, just someone who can give the right pep talk.

The one thing that will be certain is that it is certainly close to a done deal, both the current and incoming owners will only be too aware of the need to get someone in place, but I think it is also important this time that it's someone who might remain in the job for a few years to build something. The 'delay' in the sale currently is just unfortunate, purely the timing in falling into the crack of the transition to the new regulator, though it's almost as though they hadn't planned or thought about the eventuality that a sale might be substantially or fully approved under the old regime but the sale not actually completing by the time the new starts. We should be fairly well placed though with the additional checks that the EFL would have undertaken with the knowledge that the new regime/tests were incoming.

The season finished 3 weeks ago, so it would hardly be a panic appointment.

Maybe it might not be Pep then ONIGP. Mrs Honeyman would not have stepped down from Trumpton Women's Circle for nothing, could Palios have given her a ring about the managers job.

Mentioning Trumpton, perhaps Half Man Half Biscuit could be the celebrities liked with the takeover. At least (showing my age) I’d heard of them unlike ASAP Rocky
I am to young to remember Trumpton, Boz. I only remember my great grandparents talking about it.
