    New manager appointed
Tranmere Rovers have appointed Darrell Clarke as the club’s new manager.

The Squad 26/27

It's always possible that DC may be able to get more out of the remaining players than previous management. Brough for example was well thought of at previous clubs.

My assessment of Bristow is on a par with Sparky's.
This was my point. Several had decent reputations. More to the point if no takeover our budget likely means we can't improve on some of them especially if we can't get rid of some of the in contract players which we likely can't.

While certain individuals may be capable of better under Clarke, we have had a toxic atmosphere of failure at the club for two or three years now, and I think a significant refresh is required for any real improvement. We don't want to carry too much baggage forward.

Agreed RLC - sadly we have a fair amount of baggage in the players under contract plus 2 players who likely won't be fit for much/ all of the season. From my perspective of the 11 fit players I reckon there are only 4 possibly 5 players I would want in a starting 11 so plenty of scope to bring in baggage free players if we have the budget of course!

Man U had a lot of baggage ( even with all the money they spent) and a very good manager (as it turned out) got the players working as a team. So anything is possible.

Nevitt gone to Oldham, not that he would be my first choice

Interesting. The rumour mill suggested a fall-out with MM, when he left for Crewe, but if Micky’s now re-signed him..?

Oldham clearly going for it next season and getting their business done early, also signed a decent player from Southend.

Nevitt? Hardly a step forward.

Wonder when the first Darrel Clarke signing will get done.

I just hope we don’t sign anyone who has had an injury but is ‘recovering’ it never works out.

I do wonder if Brough isn’t the same player after his leg break at Northampton.

First player on the list needs to be a first team goalkeeper, we can’t have a repeat of this season, need to assume McGhee will not be available/need phasing back in slowly.

Unless it was a double fracture a la Simon Haworth, and his triggered a considered retirement allegedly, it should have no longer term effect.
Along the same thinking I'd be amazed if McGhee plays again
Not sure we have signed many actually injured ones, Norris carried a knock but it healed and his subsequent injuries were completely unconnected.
LOC had some bad luck but there is nothing to suggest he has a long term problem.
However some fans will convince themselves of certain things in spite of overwhelming evidence to contrary.

Rovers linked with 28 year old Callum Connelly. A centre back released by Stockport who is from Liverpool. Think he’d be a good signing for us but just a rumour at this point

I've seen that on twitter from Justin Smith, so there's no chance of that being true

I’ve sent it elsewhere but you are probably right. He’s played most of his career in divisions above us so can’t see why he would come to us

Oldham fans seem to think Tom Conlon coming to us. Midfielder, captain material, who's played for Clarke before, had two bad injuries and barely played for the Latics last season after September. Would rather we looked elsewhere, we've got enough injuries in the remnants of the squad as it is.

Saunders gets 2 years at Northampton good luck getting goals out of him,

Chris Hogg is their manager when we are next looking probably by bonfire night, he has to be avoided shocking judge.
