Turns out David Raven is the assistant manager at Northern Prem side FC United of Manchester. He and the rest of the management team there have just renewed their contracts for three years.

If Salford had taken just one of the many chances they squandered in the last game of the season at Crawley they’d have gone up automatically. They’d have also made that afternoon a little less stressful for us!

Good to see a proper club go up instead.
 
Salford were denied what looked like a stonewall penalty in that Crawley game too. However despite the impact their promotion will have on L2 attendance averages, glad the Magpies went up.
 
I remember Salford taking Notts County’s EFL place in 2019 by winning the NL playoff final against Fylde. Only 8,000 at Wembley for that. It was depressing to see two plastic clubs competing to replace a proud old founder member of the FL, so the footballing gods have firmly put that right today.

Naturally the irrepressible Mani Dieseruvwe scored for Salford in that playoff final! :DAnd Challinor was still managing Fylde.
