    New manager appointed
Tranmere Rovers have appointed Darrell Clarke as the club’s new manager.

New Manager - Pete Wild

Fair play to MP getting it sorted so soon. He must have been looking before last Saturday.

Pete is probably the best we could get. He knows this league and allegedly was even watching us as an Oldham fan recently. He has improved most teams he’s managed.

The question is - does he have enough time? If we were at the bottom, probably no. But as we are, needing just two or three wins, surely we should be optimistic.

As you say BBTC Wild knows the division inside out, as well as this Saturdays opposition of course. We couldn’t have hoped for much better given the circumstances.
Glad he’s bought his assistant in too.

Good news. At least it's decisive. Does Parky stay on?
Presumably yes. We should have the luxury of a management team and a head coach - just like the old days!

I feel that not allowing new managers to bring in at least an assistant was detrimental and must have made things more difficult for recent managers like Andy, Nigel and Keith. It also will have limited the choice. Micky always had a sidekick he trusted.

at least its sorted and he is experienced, that surly gives us a chance, now to play to ironsides strengths

Mellon's assistant in his second spell was Ian Dawes, who he certainly did not trust and have a good working relationship with.

I agree the insistence on foisting Dawes, Parkinson, Danns on incoming managers was a major issue.

I agree he’s as good an option as we could hope for, I doubt there was a long list of options. In fact we’re possibly lucky that there was such a capable L2 manager available and willing to accept a short term deal with an injury-ravaged squad. As such, you’d think he’s had some positive signals that a more permanent arrangement could be possible with the new ownership in-waiting.
