    New manager appointed
Tranmere Rovers have appointed Darrell Clarke as the club’s new manager.

Wrexham

I think this offers far superior journalism beyond nudge theory. I've always quite enjoyed visits to the racecourse when their team was moving in a different sphere to us. However the town has always been a complete dump like Birko without any of its redeeming features. Football wise I guess the town fully supports it unlike ourselves.
As it wholly represents NE Wales, this can move the dial across the whole economy as it maybe doing, anything we might do would be peripheral even a riverside site with other features? Not sure anywhere like Burnley, Bournemouth or Luton have had wider impacts, possibly unique

Is this the publication owned by Richard Harpin?

No idea try the ball not the man. If you believe anything is inaccurate say so.
You discredited a national paper, and then you submitted a link to a publication with problematic ownership. That publication's owner was the owner of HomeServe, a company that ripped off thousands of working people and was forced to pay £30 million in compensation. Coincidentally, he is also a key Conservative donor.

I agree that The Guardian occasionally publishes inaccurate information, especially in its opinion pieces. However, the specific article you accused of being misleading was, in my opinion, factual, not an attempt at 'nudge theory.'

I've found this discussion extremely useful. I read this forum frequently and now have a much clearer understanding of your viewpoint and the reasons behind your comments.

I read two articles, no viewpoints, you an prejudiced imagination. The Guardian linked two things which were not linked, the company has a very long relationship with the authorities who have entered into long term grants. The owners of the company have sold some of their own shares. The nudge theory is that you are supposed to conclude that the grants were issued due to the lack of ability to pay for it all themselves and then they received some private funds anyway. It relies on ignorance in both capitalism and public fiscal stimulus.
The business article was a minor article written by a jobbing journalist who summarised the publicly available material on the councils websites including the legally required impact assessments. You believe a billionaire entrepreneur has a part in that article which you haven't even expressed any doubts about, on the basis of another of his companies and a political donation. He also funds a foodbank charity, saved a local pub apparently but is very NE England centric so being a Magpie possibly has zero interest in our neighbours. You take butterfly syndrome to new limits.

Interesting that they are talking about Wrexham spending 90m on a new stand (we can only dream!). It brought back memories of going there with a Welsh friend in 69 to see Wales play Scotland. Many of the greats of the time were playing. Bremner, Gilzean, Charlie Cooke, Ron and Wyn Davies, Toshack etc.Scotland won 5-3 on a muddy pitch although I can still hear Tommy Lawrence landing on the ground after trying to save a Wales goal! The Flying Pig! That said, my most abiding memory is seeing Scottish supporters carrying their alcohol stricken mate into the ground BEFORE the game. Imagine that today!

It was great you could see Wales play and even Wrexham in Europe. Wales games were marred by various groups of supporters fighting on the kop, at least Cardiff, Swansea and Wrexham. Main stand was seriously kitted out, very modern for then press area and the pub side was great for the faithful. Wrexham v Chester made me glad we never had a real derby, quite toxic. Our three stands cost us £1.9M
