So we come down to one of the most important games this season as we take on The Pirates at home. With Oldham choking at Barrow yesterday, the table does not make good reading. Rovers sit in 20th on 37 points along with Crawley and Newport. Barrow's win last night takes them up to 36 points so Rovers are only one point away from the drop. We do have a game in hand on most around us however we are still the leagues worst form team having not won a game in 2 months. We simply have to win on Saturday to stand any chance of staying in this division.

Some more depressing news is that our opponents on Saturday are the leagues in-form team. Having struggled for most of the season they are now on a six match win streak knocking over Crawley, Harrogate, Fleetwood, Accrington, Gillingham and Shrewsbury sitting comfortably in 15th on 55 points. They have nothing to play for in their remaining three games.

However.. Rovers did manage a point on Saturday against Chesterfield in a game they really should have won. We have also improved in some areas with Lee O'Connor and Tamen back in the squad and we finally have some pace up front with Woolery. We created chances but let ouselves down with some poor finishing so there is at least some sign of life still left in the team.

I'm not thinking of any other result but a win so I'm going for a 2-1 win for us.

I would love to be proven wrong but think it will be another defeat 1 2

really hope we win and stay up but after since going to PP since the harry leyland days i,m not re-newing my season ticket, unless serious money comes in i can only see another season of journeyman 1yr contracts with loanees making up the squad coming in. in future will pick & choose the games to go to.

Barrow aiming to pack their stadium allowing everyone to bring a friend for free so a full house is likely for their lunch time kick off

Another home defeat is unthinkable, but fairly likely if you follow the form guide. Perhaps BR missing their best midfielder of late (a chap called Smallwood), may help us but their recent form shows they score goals and don’t concede many. Steve Evans knows what he is doing at this level.

Barrow play at 12:30 so if they pick up a win against out of form Walsall the pressure on the players will ramp up even further

Squeaky bum time as they say.

If Steve Evan’s had taken over at Tranmere he’d have been hounded after a poor start. He has lost 10 and won 12 with most of the latter coming in the last two months. He joined in December .

So Wild has his work cut out and it will be a top notch effort if he beats Steve’s start by having Tranmere turn the corner for the last 4 games.

There are signs of improvement but is it too little too late?

That’s my concern. We’re rapidly running out of games. The chesterfield result and performance was positive but we’ve still some tough games left. Will we pick up enough points? I’m not sure

The problem is that we have flattered to deceive following decent performances; Crawley (for 60 mins) and Swindon being examples. My fear is that we struggle to kick on after a reasonable display and then produce another shocker. Fingers crossed it is different on Saturday. Sadly, I will be in Mallorca...

There are worse places to be, enjoy

Let's hope they can take their foot off the gas, pun intended. Evans was quite forthright about getting Smallwood as though he was the missing piece, well they got sorted.
We have kenneh in our latest invention the mid box. He is that out of his depth my fears of a red were overdone as he can't near enough to do that.
Saw small positives at chesterfield, hunting down more, but still seems Crosby at work ergo parky has the ear.
LOC is streets better than kenneh, whilst Tamen is no advance from Negru.
Patrick and Obiero are just hot and cold not for a gunfight. Telling that Finley went beyond and played a simple 12 for the goal.
Woolery used his pace once when out wide early 2nd half and made one channel run but the pass never came unlike when ironside threaded him for a one on one. But his miss was dire. By not targeting him, wisely, we aimed at the wingbacks which totally failed and Marosi distribution was dire.
We edged it but arguably did at Crewe and Newport, and we as happened can spoof up a chance loser late on.
I'd bring Negru in for LOC, move him to cm bin kenneh Patrick and Obiero. Put Dennis left mid, he can pass. Put woolery with ironside.
Obiero had the ball just before the goal he retained it well but had no idea what to do next. Patrick wandered mainly on the right threatened but did nothing.
For all the play no cross was ever going to be headed in. Only Finley can see a pass and play one. Flatter to deceive. I fear a defeat on a poor performance
You have to punch a hole and create space otherwise woolery and Whits are easy to defend against. Hope Joe is fit and we have learnt.
You need to put in ten half chances into the mixer at this level not rely on one golden one or hope for some African magic. Our only goal in march is up for an award, recipe for the drop

I’m just not sure we have enough goals in us to pick up the required number of points.

Our top scorer Whitaker can’t get in the side. Our next top scorer Patrick has been poor for weeks. Ironside hasn’t worked and Dennis isn’t fit enough to start. We have to hope Woolery who has never been a regular scorer can bring some goals to the table but to pick up points we need goals as defensively we’re poor.

Look at barrow. Two proper league two strikers in Rose and Gordon.

I’m praying for a scrappy 1-0 home win for us. Is that too much to ask!!!

Just to win is to much at the moment. But yea a win who cares about who scones let Rover play up front he will ruff em up and like there balls and sniff there asses anything for a win

We are now in the last chance saloon, defeat on Saturday is just not worth thinking about, a win is a must. Will we get it, I don't think any Rovers fan would bet on it, by what I read Rovers played a lot better against Chesterfield but we have had false dawns before only to fizzle out alarmingly the next game. I just hope that the fans forget all this seasons failures and turn up in their thousands, get the ground rocking and scare the living daylights out of Bristol, with the players finally showing some pride and determination and sending everyone home happy and proud of their club, with a 3-1 win. That is my hope anyway.

Goals aren't just about the scorer. Ironside like steel opens the door, Dennis isn't a fitness issue he is no athlete never has been like muir, a sniffer really.
Patrick hasn't work for many months, his only success is stepping in from the left wing and shooting. He plays right and never puts a cross in.
Honestly think we need two up one to run onto passes the other to flick them on. We have two who can do the first and one the latter.
Even Saturday was a case of an unusual amount of possession being used in a wing and a prayer attack formation. Wing backs played one cross on the ground, goal. Finlay a couple of passes in behind, Obiero never seeing a pass and Patrick spewing possession up when defenders know the one thing they can't let him have and they don't anymore.
Evans will throttle that formation, needs more focus.
Watson might've able to relieve Finley, asking him to cover kenneh is wasting him. Square pegs round holes, very Crosby

we have had square pegs in round holes for years by promoting coaches, assistants and a DOF to the managers job purely for financial reasons, we are now reaping what we have sown.

I thought Whitaker is injured?
