Next up (hopefully) for Rovers is a home game against The Bluebirds. Rovers will be hoping this one gets the green light after the postponement on Boxing Day due to the fog. This is a game between two struggling teams this season who have identical form records over the last five games. 1 win, 1 draw and 3 losses.

Tranmere sit 19th in the table on 21 points with Barrow 2 places higher on 26 points. Barrows last match ended with a thumping 3-0 defeat against Salford so they will be looking to bounce back and will come to Prenton Park confident of getting points from a poor Rovers side.

Our last two games against The Bluebirds have ended in defeat with a 2-1 loss in August last year and a 1-0 loss in January.

I think this will be a tough game for Rovers and with Davies missing and the usual sicknotes absent, I'm going for a 1-1 draw.

We know which team has the worst away record in the league, but Barrow have the second worst so surely an opportunity for three points at PP.

Our lads will be fresher so should start well. As ever the first goal is important. Barrow have on paper some decent players including old boy Sam Foley, Robbie Gotts, giant Emile Acquah, Dom Telford who scored a lot for Newport a couple of years ago and ex Crewe winger Charlie Kirk who we were linked with last season.

I still have concerns about scoring goals so can’t see us winning as I don’t think we’ll keep a clean sheet. I’m predicting a score draw

I will be going for a draw myself, cos of the absentees and our scoring record.
And our home form, and, and.

Can we have a 4-3 win please? as we did at Holker street a few years back.

It is very foggy here in tranmere, across to the ground. Don't know how long this will last.

Have no worries Tranmere you will beat us. Our form is abysmal plus we cant score a goal for love or money

Can’t score a goal? That sounds familiar! :). 0-0 surely?!

You have no worries, alg. Tranmere are famous for kickstarting our opponent’s season. It doesn’t matter how badly you are playing, we will find a way for you to win. ;)

Our preview doesn't even mention our players? Presume the mystery of Morris is over so him back, Saunders benched, but Morris unlikely to get on sight of the goal again? Norman in for LOC into CM. Optimism is hard to come by, but a bench that can replace the wide men and maybe Sol for Dennis at least has some angles, the last time it was a dead zone.
Interesting Williams only got back on the bench on his return from injury, if he isn't a first team certainty, maybe our thinking was just wishful. He needs to dominate at that level as I am sure Merrie would and he ain't good enough for us.

Had we played Morris was returning on Boxing Day after his family bereavement so I’m sure he’ll be involved today.

Arguably we couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity to pick up a win. Barrow in poor form with a dire away record. Whatever the line up hopefully they are as bad as Harrogate were and we can do enough to beat them.

I’d like to see Solomon start but it also depends on whether Nigel sticks with one central striker which we know Dennis isn’t suited to.

Me too but Adkins doesn’t seem interested in giving them opportunities. I’m sure we’ll see him given 5 mins at the end.

Josh Williams played fairly regularly for Connah’s Quay Nomads in the Welsh League last season, which is at least on a par with the NLN. Would a player lacking match fitness automatically go straight into the Southport starting xi? Without full knowledge of their situation it’s hard to assess, but I would not be writing him off just yet.

There was a suggestion elsewhere that Solomon might have been given a start against Accrington but won’t v Barrow as they’re a more physical team. Nigel’s obsession with tinkering with formations/personnel to match the opponent hasn’t worked well so far.

This is a game against a Barrow side who’s own form is poor and are missing some first team regulars like Rovers. If Adkins went all out for a win, we probably would manage that. However with his ultra caution things will probably only get changed after we fall behind.

Have not got a clue, who will play, how we will play, if we will score, if we will keep a clean sheet, so going to sit on the fence and going for a 1-1 draw, but any result would not surprise me.

Big games at 12:30 with Carlisle hosting Accrington and Swindon travelling to in form Bromley.

Carlisle now two up. We are three points above the relegation zone as it stands.

The next three games are huge and could even be season-defining.

A whole raft of changes once again and looks like another change of formation to 532.

Good re Solomon if Adkins isn't going to pick Taylor who surely must go in January.
Strange Walker is on bench.

Not sure how that works. Wood is the new hendry dropped for no apparent reason maybe a subliminal scapegoat for Nigel?
Finley not banned? Morris maybe inside or Jennings in cm. Hopefully sol is up top not wide
