    New manager appointed
Tranmere Rovers have appointed Darrell Clarke as the club’s new manager.

Rovers old boys

The scenes at Celtic Park were an utter disgrace. Brought back memories of what used to happen in England before there was a crackdown. Huge question marks against Celtic and their control of the crowd. I hope that they are suitably penalised. Close the ground for a while plus a big financial penalty maybe.
A points deduction would be fair!

I think they need more than that to be honest. Scotland is a two club league, despite Heart valiant attempt, and the cowboy element in the Celtic crowd might think twice if the team had to play behind closed doors for a match or two. Shoulders would be shrugged at a point deduction. Closed doors happens in Europe. On a more pleasant note, Hearts last won the Scottish League in 1960, just before the’Golden Vision’, Alex Young, was transferred from Hearts to Everton. He used to float over the ground!

i know rangers are their fiercest rivals but reading their forums as i do you can see the obstacles ie spl, sfa, and the officals they are up against, i would bet a pound to a penny it will swept away, hope i,m wrong.

I would not disagree. The penalty Celtic got at the end of the previous game was diabolical, a bit like the Mbueno handball for Utd the other day that the ref decided was not a handball!

Assume Cook will go back to Grimsby. Or would Micky take him to Oldham I wonder.

I would think Cook would prefer Grimsby, from the NE originally.

Thought Barrow might have offered Sam Foley a coaching role.

Sam is from SW not sure where Cookys roots are now but id have him as an option with big Joe on the bench. Maybe we could try having two target men in a matchday squad like nearly everyone else?
Although it is a tactic that struggles in div 1, be interesting to see how Bromley go, not that we need worry just yet

DB, I’d welcome Cookie back and certainly a 2 up front line-up, but think after a relatively successful stay at Grimsby that’s where he’ll go unless moneybags York need a striker. Hopefully the next manager will also favour 2 up top.

Ironside can play the Cook role who I thought was excellent against Grimsby. We just need to use him properly.

I wouldn't play them together, most have a like for like on the bench. We barely can cross for one let alone two.maybe get Apter back too?!!?

Yes I thought Foley might have got some sort of job there out of courtesy. However any new manager probably didn’t want him around as he was part of their relegation - as player and manager. A fresh start and all that which is arguably what we need.

He had a decent season so may have a move lined up for the NL
Certainly sounds like he’s got a good offer from somewhere. Perhaps coincidentally, his old gaffer at Buxton has just been appointed manager at Halifax.
