A great win tonight for the under-18s in the FA Youth Cup, beating Doncaster 3-0. It seems that our youngsters are still comparable with, or better than, teams higher up the ladder, which is good to see.

Yes, it's good that we can still compete with league clubs for youngsters although most of this team would have joined the academy some years ago. I would hope that the fantastic facilities being developed will make sure we continue to attract young talent, even while we are in the National League.

The first is a real defensive howler, the last is a well taken striker's effort but I really recommend you watch the video for the second goal. It's a stunner!

I'd kept meaning to comment on how encouraging this is, but have been distracted.

It's encouraging that our youngsters are punching above their weight and there is still talent coming through. Eddie Clarke, young left-back given a first pro contract and talk there may be one or two others in the pipeline. Hopefully this will translate into a few more youngsters getting first team opportunities further down the line.

Eddie Clarke sounds like an excellent prospect from what Parky and others at the club say about him.
