It may well do. Spurs are looking into whether their retractable pitch was a factor in the amount of injuries they suffered last season including several acl injuries
 
It was one of the reasons many grass sports moved away from this type of surface
 
The club have also advertised for a full time new physio.

Why? I never got an injury from a pitch or know anyone who did. The only possible risk is one too hard, they are watered to death or icy.
Of all our injuries which one could possibly be attributed to our pitch? Remember somehow our fitness team are to blame and of course the chairman for our injuries!
They were out too long and they were rushed back.
Aldo signed Frail and Thorn because he wanted to gamble on their dubious fitness, to get a better player. It hasn't changed just the standard. Brad Walker being an obvious case.

To be fair sounds like a proper renovation this season - 120 tonnes of sand pro-core aeration whatever that may be and overseeded yesterday.
 
Sutton United. The day of the protests that resulted in the Brabin sacking. The pitch was ‘artificial’ and sloped at the sides. As I recall we lost three players during the game due to injuries sustained as they slipped off those sloped sections.

Ok, that was down to poor design…

Wasn't including artificial, never played in one or known anyone who has. Football at least, Widnes had a form and scientific backing but the scars on knees were horrific
