Does anyone know what restriction there is on the number of loans and emergency loans we can have in a season?

We've got Nielsen(allegedly) and Darville on 6 month deals and had Brown for a month.

Thus far we've had emergency loans for;

Gulasci extended
Wotton
Mendy extended
Grandison, now extended, after a return to his parent club.

Bit puzzled about Grandison returning, given that Broomes is back and Blanchard/Wood are available as cover. I assume there's a limit on the number of loanees over a season and have concerns that when injuries and suspensions bite later on in the season, we may have exhausted that option.

Wooton and Gulasci have been emergency loan signings - the extension of the Gulasci's loan deal remains on an emergency basis. We can have an unlimited amount of these at the FA's discretion.

The trio of Grandison, Mendy and Nielsen constitute standard loan signings, of which we can have 4 of under the age of 23 in a season. We can additionally bring in 4 over the age of 23, but obviously there are far less of these available. On a related note, we can only name 5 loan signings in any given (edit: matchday) squad.

(I think)

Thanks. It's all quite confusing, but adding Darville and presuming the U23 rule is at the time they start their loan (Nielsen just turned 24) it means we can't loan any other youngsters, save if the FA allow them as emergencies...if there is any definition of exactly what is an emergency.

Hmmm, not sure about this rule. But SonkOrly looks like he has done his homework. I think we'll only use 'emergency' loans should injuries play up again. Once Ash Taylor and Mahon come back, strength in depth is bolstered somewhat.
