Rovers make the short trip to Gresty Road to face Crewe on Saturday. Tranmere are desperate to pick up points as they struggle to get out of the rut they are in. 2 wins in 10 tells it's own story and I have a feeling Andy Crosby will be looking for containment again hoping his team come away with something from a fixture we have a terrible record in.
Crewe on the other hand will be hoping for maximum points to boost their play off/automatic chances currently sitting in 6th, 12 points from the top. Their recent record is good having won 3 out of their last 5 and only losing once to Fleetwood by a single goal.
I have absolutely no idea what 'the tinkerman' will go with for team selection. He seems to be unable to stop the slide and seems intent on changing things just for the sake of it. Players in and out, played out of position, no strikers in the starting eleven etc etc.. The heavy defeat to Notts County at the weekend sums up the current state of play with a real abject performance.
Our record at Gresty Road is quite frankly awful. We have to go all the way back to 1999 to find our last league win at Gresty Road. A 2-0 win with a second half brace from Wayne Allison. Joe Murphy sat on the bench for this one.
I can't see anything but a loss here which will put huge pressure on the Newport game a few days later.
