Yet another defeat for Rovers at home on Saturday means we swiftly turn our attention to Tuesday nights game, effectively our game in hand. This game is massive for Rovers and could be the difference between staying in league two or dropping down to the conference as we travel to the EV Charger Points Stadium desperate for points.

The grave situation is that we are only one point away from the drop. This game in hand gives Rovers a massive opportunity to break away from the bottom with only two games left after Tuesday. Winning almost seems unplausible now due to the shocking form we are in but we have to keep going. Avoiding the drop is still in our hands with the game in hand so we must come away from the EV Charger Points Stadium with something.

Similar to Bristol Rovers, The Robins have nothing to play for. They are 17th on 52 points however they have picked up form recently having won their last three matches against Newport, Gillingham and Walsall.

Our match earlier on this season ended with two rare events. Ironside scored and we won the match 3-2!

I honestly can't see us getting anything here due to our current abysmal form but I live in hope.

A draw would bring us absolutely level with Crawley. The other three are 5 goals adrift of us. Clutching at straws.
If Wild is as hoodwinked by Patrick as mogadon Shuker, we are in trouble. He flatters to deceive up front and on the right.
I think we are down to individual efforts now, neither recent coaches have a viable plan. Patrick may hit one but is there a defender in this division not wise to him. Whits up front is our best punt for an individual spark
Prob start with bristow and brough I guess

We will start with 5 at the back and 2 ho!ding midfielders, we will aim to keep it right and nick a goal but in reality we will loose again.

Yes, if we don't try to be more proactive and score the first goal the outcome is inevitable.

Regardless of tactical niceties, I fear it is too late now anyway.

Got done on the break twice. Emotions aside, the levels were alot better against a side that i doubt anyone in the division is beating currently.

I know our goal came from a lofted ball up the line for Brist to run onto but before we tired we played the better football on the deck. That and drop Tamen if Negru is fit who misjudged every aerial ball and has decided wearing his shorts around his ankles is a new trend needs to happen Tues!

One of the problems is the lack of concentration. All season we have been guilty of it. We start out OK and then fade badly in the 2nd half and then go on to concede sloppy goals. Fitness levels are also a factor.

Given a defeat to MK Dons is almost certain and Grimsby very likely, Tuesday is the only realistic chance of a win.

That said the robins are in decent form and another team unlike us, who have no problem scoring goals.

I just can’t see us winning another game this season.

I don't see us picking up another point in the last 3 games

I bought a ticket for this match before it was rearranged due to international call-ups. I'll still go, as Cheltenham a new ground for me, but with little hope of any enjoyment. It will probably be my last game watching TRFC as a FL side for a long time.

The pack needs shuffling to see if we can conjure up a result to keep our survival hopes alive. While not making any sartorial assessments about his shorts, Tamen makes me uneasy and unsure why he's preferred to Negru. Whitaker needs to be given more game time too.

I thought Tamen did ok on Saturday. Their first goal he could have done better but Joseph was the main culprit.

Whitaker must start. Under Wild we’ve scored (I think), 1 goal in 7 games. Charlie remains top scorer with 13 goals in all competitions. He’s not perfect but we have to play him

The treatment of Whitaker, in a team that has a chronic shortage of goals, has been crazy. I thought Tamen was very good on Saturday.

I am at the stage of hoping that purely due to the law of averages a team of (allegedly) League Two standard professional footballers has to win a game some time, regardless of the context.

Yes, we just have to keep hoping something will give..

I for one don't buy this on the beach notion. Bristol and sadly Cheltenham are on a run preparing for next term and focussed. A team that has had a sudden change in circumstances can be soft the next time.
Maybe us in the last game? No that is too simple. MK are up if Salford don't win Thurs, that could help but we would have to all fired up. Patrick just waltzes around waiting for prescribed needs, Obiero doesn't really seem to have a role just wanders looking for openings but seeing few. Id try plant wide

Yes law of averages you would think something should change.

It’s whether we can turn 1 win in 19, into say 1 win in 3. Not likely

Indeed, much rarer in recent years than it used to be. Can often work the other way too, as Walsall showed on Saturday.

As for tomorrow, like others I too find myself in the law of averages camp! But even that can’t lure me into predicting an away win so I’ll go for a draw. At best. 1-1.

I was gladly surprised by Tamen, as I'd have some concerns initially. I also thought Bristol did ok too.

As Barrow play Newport on the final day, I think a victory tonight would virtually guarantee safety even if we lose the following two games, provided the goal difference doesn't take a hit through a thrashing at MK Dons.

But are the Tranmere manager and players capable of winning one game of football ?
