    New manager appointed
Tranmere Rovers have appointed Darrell Clarke as the club’s new manager.

League Two Cambridge (4) V Rovers (2)

However… we are away so that’s something.
Away from our fans who booed them off at half time following an away win! We have fans who were deluded enough to think we could get in the playoffs so their take aways were always going to be bizarre.

However… we are away so that’s something.
Indeed, this season is crazy and not good for the "average" fan who sees a lot more of the team at PP than on their travels.

A new competition for this game.
Name the starting eleven?
Just a bit of a joke mind you.

My eleven if I picked.....

Murphy
JJ. Smith. Tamen Brough
Finlay. Kenneh
Whittaker Jennings
Ironside. Dennis

Tin hat on!

My fear is his complete over reaction to some decent results and some bad days, by playing two novices unknown to their teammates, will be another experiment.
Back to basics and back to the formula that got us into safety in midtable.
Murphy
JJ Norman Smith Tamen/Brough (whoever looks more comfortable on the left in training) Bristow
Finley Smallwood Blacker
Ironside Whitaker
I don't rate some, wouldn't keep others but the probability is they will put in a reasonable performance that even in defeat will be the grounding for future matches. If he starts selecting like he did with his subs v Crewe we may soon be completely uncompetitive.
Jones and Jennings offer something off the bench, the rest are just extra bodies in emergency and some barely that.

Murphy
Smith Tamen/Brought Bristow
JJ Finley Kenneh/Smallwood Norman
Whitacker Jenno
Jones

A bit square pegs....
Bristow is big enough to play left sided centre back, albeit I recall he was tried there in his first stint....and it didn't work.
Norman can be a goal/assist threat even from the left and cutting in on his hammer right foot.:)
As per Mr Hill...tin hats.

Murphy
Joseph - Smith - Brough - Tamen - Bristow
Blacker - Smallwood - Finley
Whittaker
Ironside

I can't fit Jennings, Jones, Norman or Dennis in my line-up which suggests how much of a muchness AC is dealing with. I have no faith whatsoever in my selection either being correct or capable of winning the match...

Smallwood cannot play more than 3 more games I believe without triggering his extension so he should be out of squad until we literally cannot field a side. Cannot afford to waste another £140k on his salary next year.
As to the result Tranmere being Tranmere might surprise us and I assume Murphy will be back which will help a lot but realistically not hopeful.

If Murphy wasn't up to sitting on the bench for the Walsall game, how sure are we of his ability to actually start this game? I'd pick him if he was available.

Murphy
Joseph Smith Tamen Brough Bristow
Blacker Finley Kenneh
Whitaker Ironside

So long as Brough is fit the back line picks itself. Not the time to change to four at the back, although I prefer it as a formation.
Kenneh offers more defensively than Smallwood
Torn about who to play with Ironside up front, but don't think can leave Whitaker out on his goalscoring and he will offer more defensively than Jones.

Probably still losing with my line-up, but more of a chance than the side Crosby turns out. Hard to see Rovers getting anything from the next 3 games.

We have 19 outfield players now training, when asked if Murphy will be in the squad Saturday AC smiled and said maybe

Training and fit to play? Blacker and Sol were ill so probably the additions? Blacker would appear at least?

but still no major signings and yea we all know its not going to happen, guess we just have to suck it up and get on with it,

I have been waiting for a goalkeeper signing but I dont think that is going to happen. Even with Joe back I still think we need more cover. Saturdays game I really can't see anything more than an easy home win by 3-0.

We have 5 loan signings, we can have 6 in total but only 5 in the matchday squad. So we would either have to cancel one of the existing loans, sign one of the existing loans permanently or sign another keeper on a permanent basis.

Joe's situation is a bit baffling as he went home for a family issue but came back and had to be assessed. Doesn't make much sense but if he returns now, not much has changed. We have no use of three keepers with only one team, the downside now is that we can see this lad will never make it and will cost points if he plays on. Any other recruit can only match his profile of next to no EFL experience, that is just where we are.
Having said that Doohan looked poor and we sold him, although he was error prone this lad's aerial approach would put me off looking at schoolkids for age groups.
I see Ryan Watson at 32 has no club this season, could be a viable option for Smallwood who with LOC injured is an issue?
