the last few seasons supporting this magnificent club the supporters are the magnificent part has been bloody frustrating, with takeover this and that palios saying about advising, who would pay the 15milion for someone to do this , the golden ticket ok we know he wants to protect the club but again if you was putting that much cash into the club you would be put off by all the interference, we all know mark is sick ,and they are broke yea sure but its time to walk away into retirement and let us fkn move on

The longer this saga goes on the more painful for the supporters. The last few years and the time we went down to the NL are my most depressing times watching Rovers. Relegation to the NL tops it but this sh*t show aint far behind.

I think the time we set our final fixture before being wound up, beats this. We are reasonably safe and many peers are stuck in non league. Calm down

We are not reasonably safe, as the midweek games showed it’s the time of year when teams down the bottom pick up unexpected points like Newport or go on a run like Shrewsbury or grind out results like Cheltenham are doing. We’ve got 3 aways against that trio and with our current slump in form away from PP coming closer to matching our dismal home form, would anybody be confident of winning even one of them?

5th worst placed team Barrow are just projected to get 40 points, the other four less. We have 35 points with 14 to play, that is reasonably safe. Yes the pessimists may gain some solace over the next away games but in the long run we'll be fine. Six out of seven need to improve form beyond all measure and we need lose ten matches really.

Projected by who exactly? Newport were favourites to lose at Salford too. At present we seem to be unable to get any draws and continuing our win a month form certainly won’t end in a position where safety is cast iron guaranteed

I'm not sure AM's post is even about safety, although this is still a real concern. Everything reeks of decay and a lack of ambition at the moment. Poor football, poor coaching, a deteriorating stadium, the Trust issue, an interminable takeover saga. Supporting Rovers is not bringing the level of joy that it should; win, lose or draw. The sooner we can move on from this torpor the better.

Maybe that period was one of the most frustrating

Our performance in terms of league placings has actually been worse for much of Palios's tenure.

This is undoubtedly the worst period we have experienced since the mid-Eighties, which in itself is saying something.

Basic maths that is their projected return from their current record.

You can't make crude projections in that fashion. There are too many variables.

The recent form of several clubs below us is significantly better than ours.

Broken record time, Palios bla bla. We are far better off than many of our 1980 peers and since the trapdoor was opened we have been passed by many no one would have even considered in the 1980s.
No sane fan would argue that if Palios hadn't stepped forward we would be better off. PJ is now long gone and yet no one has made a concrete offer or even a balsa wood one

If you think the bottom seven can all bar one produce markedly better form, I would class that as crude analysis. Two thirds of the season is over, general patterns will be statistically solid

If that was the case, we would have been relegated last season.

Just one of numerous examples.

You have no idea what offers were made.

Palios's tenure should be assessed on its (de)merits. The last decade as a whole has has been disappointing, the last three or four years have been appalling.

We aren't seven clubs, you miss the point about collective changes. Any club can go on a run good or bad, a third of a division doing so is almost impossible.

Theoretically it is possible for up to half the division to go on a good run, although agree that would require a novel set of fixtures and is unlikely. Given 23rd is a relegation place, at this stage it’s possible that 6/7 of the teams below us could go on such a run. Hopefully they won’t but we’re nowhere near impossible yet.

The first bit isn't right I'm afraid as the half good and half bad have to play others in their theoretical grouping, so they can't both win or lose respectively.
If we want to cling on to something negative, we lose 14 we go down. Every non defeat will erode that hope. I'll go with us getting 49 and being 11 clear.
