Great fun during the closing arguments with Joe having a row with the prosecution. Judge had to step in! At least Tacopina’s possible involvement with Rovers has fostered some entertainment I would not witnessed otherwise! On the BBC website.

It’s now for the jury to deliberate. Tomorrow’s a public holiday in the US so their deliberations will begin on Tuesday.

Who cares?
No one knows or will tell anything about the proposed takeover, and it's a huge if, it happens!
Usually when people don’t care about a topic they don’t bother engaging with it. So jog on and leave it to those who do have a passing interest in it.

Try upping the Prozac too.;)

You really don't know how much I do care about my football club.
And I would like to think, that ifs and maybes are way in the future even if, a big if it happens, I have my doubts, is your concern as well.
and some U.S. Bullshit trial is not going to change much in the upcoming battle on the pitch. Cos that is where the focus should be.

wishing something should happen doesn't mean it will.

And what happens if it doesn't?

that is my biggest concern for the club!

And I will take diazepam just before I dream of PP South.

Read the opening post.

The thread isn’t about you. Or at least it wasn’t until you decided it should be.

The take over is to late to make any difference this season now, we are where we are, the players we have we have to stick with, a take over or not, we have to sink or swim with what we have.

I still don't care about the trial.
Yet for some reason you keep gatecrashing a thread devoted to that very subject!
The clue’s in the title - “Rocky Trial”.
So please allow others who do have an interest in it to discuss it if they want.

This, if it happens, is unlikely to be "Wrexham 2".. We have no idea who the real "interested investors" are other than Tacopina has corralled a group of people who, subject to judicial proceeding, are looking to make some capital investment in a business I guess they know nothing about, in a football club they know nothing about., in a part of the UK they no nothing about. We all saw what the "Osterman Debacle" did to our club and we should be very careful, despite the calamitous state Palios has left us in by leaving Adkins in control, in welcoming this latest "investment" knowing so little about who, and why, these people care enough about our club, yes our club, to invest in its future in the long term. I accept we are in such a dire situation that any outside investment seems the only way we will move forward as clearly the Palio want out at any cost. It's quite pathetic though that we, the true life blood of this club, have been left in a position where we are possibly relying on a US juries decision in a criminal court case to determine our clubs future. Pathetic!

More pathetic would be the true lifeblood of a club choosing to do nothing but sit back and whinge while the future of their club is up for grabs - a golden opportunity for a community to rally round and harness its collective acumen, finance and desire to run, or at least help run, its own FL club, rather than just blithely expecting outsiders to turn up and do it all for them.

Let’s hope such complacency and entitlement isn’t the case in Wirral. Either way, at least one local chap and his missus can say they’ve been doing all they can to deliver a brighter future for their club and its supposed true lifeblood.

But I imagine most folk who are taking any interest in the trial don’t believe its outcome will go so far as to determine the club’s future. However it might yet determine the participation of one of the reported consortium members (albeit reports sourced only from the Sun’s showbiz gossip column, many months ago now), and I suppose it might impact, for example, on the timing at which any Tacopina-led consortium may wish, or be in a position, to finalise a deal if their bid is successful.

Things may (or may not) start gathering pace after Tuesday!

On the balance of probability if this case goes Joe's way the options for TRFC will improve. Mark has set a stall out for the future, it seems as solid as it can be. The parallels with Osterman could not be more misplaced, he took over with £100,000 in debt and spent his way to £500,000 in two years with no upside.

Mark had zeroed debt and laiden the takeover cost purely in equity, so if all fails administration is not an immediate issue while cash flow may well be. Asset stripping is via ground moving legally protected and given the incoming costs not really viable anyway- they'd struggle to get back to even.

If we end up with £5 million in cash from new equity as part of the deal what is not to like? Clearly the new owners come from a different mindset similar to Wrexham. It certainly tests many of us with a more traditional view of youth development and strong club ethos, but the options seem limited. We have a highly qualified ex-player as owner and a an equally qualified manager, but we have taken a water pistol to a gun fight. This squad isn't fit for purpose in quality and definitely in depth. I don't buy Mark's wage cap claims, I think we just haven't the funds and I don't buy Nigel's support for his players although he has to keep up appearances.

I just hope that new owners bring some expertise with them. As football has a habit of consuming naive capital and a name of an ex-player is an ideal way to start that as the manager.

Just been mentioned on sky sports news that the takeover has moved a step closer following asaps aquital
Interestingly Sky also say:

“We understand that the process remains on course to be completed early this year and in time for the new prospective owners to prepare for next season”

and, intriguingly…

“The club maintaining its status as an EFL club is also key to the deal being completed.”

Many a slip between cup and lip!

If the maintaining efl status is true then that's one he'll of a gamble Palios is taking by keeping Adkins in place
