Tranmere Rovers assistant manager Peter Shirtliff has left the club. He has decided to take a similar role alongside one of his best friends, Danny Wilson, at Swindon Town.
Shirtliff had been on the coaching staff assisting manager Ronnie Moore for two years after joining in the summer of 2007. His decision to leave means Moore will be searching for his third assistant manager since taking over the reins at Prenton Park.
There was no ill feeling in the departure. Ronnie Moore, speaking to the club's official website, he said: "I will be sorry to see Peter leave but respect his decision to link up with his friend Danny Wilson at Swindon. We have had two good years together and I'd like to thank him for all his hard work and wish him all the best for the future."
Moore also added: "At the present time I am in no rush to appoint a new assistant. I will take my time with the decision as it has to be the right person for the job."
Shirtliff, who will return to Prenton Park next season with the Swindon side, said: "I've really enjoyed my two years at Tranmere Rovers and would like to wish the club all the very best for the future."
